VISIT: Canyon of the Lost
We begin our adventure to the Canyon of the Lost at 7:00 a.m., picking you up from your hotel in Ica in a comfortable van. We’ll head south along the Pan-American Highway for approximately 30 minutes.
We’ll make a short 10-minute stop to use restrooms and purchase supplies before entering the desert on an unpaved road.
After several hours of travel, we’ll finally reach the entrance of the majestic Canyon of the Lost, located in the heart of the Ica desert. Here, we’ll begin a guided hiking tour through the area’s incredible natural rock formations.
During the tour, you’ll visit:
- The Canyon’s Throat
- Caracol Plaza, located on the fourth level of the canyon
- The Gorge
- The Puma’s Face, a unique rock formation sculpted by nature
After exploring the canyon and capturing unforgettable photos, we’ll visit the main square of Ocucaje, where you’ll have time to relax and explore the surroundings.
Optionally, you can also visit the Paleontological Museum of Ocucaje, home to million-year-old fossil remains discovered in this desert region.
We’ll return to the city of Ica around 4:00 p.m., ending this unforgettable desert adventure filled with awe and discovery.
START: 7:00 a.m. – Pick up from your hotel in Ica.
END: Around 4:00 p.m. – Arrival in Ica city.
