The 1-Day Pastoruri Tour usually includes tourist transportation from Huaraz, a professional guide, a tour along the Climate Change Route, a visit to the Puya Raimondi Forest, Patococha Lagoon, the carbonated springs of Pumapampa, and time to explore Pastoruri Glacier. Depending on the operator, it may also include breakfast, a box lunch, and a first aid kit.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: Before booking, check whether admission to Huascarán National Park is included. Many travelers assume it is part of the price and discover the additional cost on the day of the tour.

📍 Did you know? Pastoruri Glacier is located within Huascarán National Park, declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

The 1-Day Pastoruri Tour lasts approximately 9 hours. It generally begins at around 8:00 a.m. with pick-up in Huaraz and ends at around 5:00 p.m., after visiting various natural attractions before reaching the glacier.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: Make sure to eat a good breakfast before starting the excursion. You will spend much of the day above 4,000 meters in altitude, and eating well helps you enjoy the journey more.

📍 Did you know? Although the glacier is the main attraction, a large part of the experience consists of traveling along the famous Climate Change Route, with multiple panoramic stops.

No. The hike on the 1-Day Pastoruri Tour is considered low difficulty and usually takes between 40 and 60 minutes to reach the glacier. However, the altitude of nearly 5,000 m.a.s.l. makes the physical effort greater than on hikes at lower altitudes.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: Walk slowly from the beginning and avoid speeding up to arrive first. At high altitude, conserving energy is much more important than speed.

📍 Did you know? Horses are available in the parking area for those who prefer to reduce the physical effort during the ascent.

The best time to take the 1-Day Pastoruri Tour is between May and September, when dry days predominate and there is a greater chance of enjoying clear skies and better views of the glacier.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: If you can choose, schedule the tour between June and August. During these months, there is usually better visibility to appreciate the Cordillera Blanca.

📍 Did you know? The rainy season in Huaraz normally occurs between November and March, so weather conditions can change quickly.

The 1-Day Pastoruri Tour includes a visit to Patococha Lagoon, the carbonated springs of Pumapampa, the Seven Colors Lagoon, the cave paintings, the Puya Raimondi Forest, and Pastoruri Glacier, one of the most representative landscapes of the Cordillera Blanca.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: Keep your camera ready throughout the journey. Many of the best photographs are taken before reaching the glacier.

📍 Did you know? The Puya Raimondi is the plant with the largest inflorescence in the world and can exceed 10 meters in height.

Yes. It is recommended to spend at least one or two days in Huaraz before taking the 1-Day Pastoruri Tour, as the route reaches approximately 5,000 meters above sea level.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: Many travelers first take lower-altitude excursions, such as Llaca Lagoon or Chavín de Huántar, before visiting Pastoruri.

📍 Did you know? The city of Huaraz is already located at more than 3,000 meters above sea level, so acclimatization begins from the moment you arrive.

For the 1-Day Pastoruri Tour, it is recommended to wear thermal or layered clothing, a waterproof jacket or windbreaker, hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, and footwear with good grip for comfortable walking.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: Even if the weather in Huaraz is warm, the wind in Pastoruri can make the temperature feel considerably colder.

📍 Did you know? At high altitudes, solar radiation is much more intense, even on cloudy days.

Yes, the 1-Day Pastoruri Tour can be done with children and older adults who are in good health and properly acclimatized. The main difficulty is not the distance of the hike, but the altitude.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: If you are traveling with older adults or young children, check with your operator in advance about the horseback transportation options available in the area.

📍 Did you know? Many families visit Pastoruri because it is one of the most easily accessible glaciers in the entire Cordillera Blanca.

Yes. The 1-Day Pastoruri Tour is an excellent alternative for those who want to visit a glacier without doing demanding full-day hikes and also discover several natural attractions in Huascarán National Park in a single excursion.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: If you have only a few days in Huaraz, Pastoruri is usually one of the best options for combining high-mountain landscapes with an accessible hike.

📍 Did you know? Pastoruri is part of the well-known Climate Change Route, created to show the effects of glacial retreat in the Peruvian Andes.

It is recommended to book the 1-Day Pastoruri Tour several days in advance, especially between May and September, during Holy Week and holidays, when Huaraz receives a larger number of national and international visitors.

💡 Get In Peru Expert Tip: If you are traveling during high season, try to book as soon as you confirm your travel dates. This will give you more schedule options and a better chance of finding availability.

📍 Did you know? The dry season coincides with the best time to do most hikes in the Cordillera Blanca, so demand for tours increases considerably.
