We’ll pick you up from your hotel near Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas to kick off an unforgettable adventure.

Our first stop will be the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where breathtaking plains, lagoons, snowcapped peaks, and towering volcanoes will make you feel like you’re stepping into a painting.

Next, we’ll stop at Patahuasi for a cup of traditional Inca tea — perfect for helping you acclimate to the altitude — while soaking up stunning views of the Misti and Chachani volcanoes.

Our journey continues through the magical Tocra Wetlands, a paradise for spotting Andean wildlife like llamas, alpacas, flamingos, and local herders in action.

We’ll then climb to the Mirador of the Andes (Pata Pampa), the highest point of the trip at 4,900 meters above sea level, where the panoramic views of the snowcapped mountains are nothing short of majestic.

Afterwards, we’ll visit a host family in the village of Achoma, where you’ll join in their daily activities: sowing, harvesting, making traditional offerings to Mother Earth, or even celebrating local festivals (depending on the season). You’ll also have the chance to dress in traditional Colca Valley clothing and dance the famous “Wititi”, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

A delicious traditional lunch overlooking the ancient terraces awaits you before heading to the Chacapi hot springs, the perfect place to relax — and if you’re up for more fun, you can go kayaking or zip-lining nearby.

Later, we’ll check into your hotel of choice in Chivay. In the evening, you can stroll through the charming Alameda and local market to pick up souvenirs, followed by a festive dinner at a folkloric peña, where music and traditional dances will set the perfect end to your day.

VISIT HIGHLIGHTS:

• • Pampa Cañahuas:
    Here you’ll have the chance to spot Peru’s national animal, the vicuña, famous worldwide for its incredibly fine fiber. You’ll also catch a different, breathtaking view of the Misti volcano — a perfect spot for epic landscape photos.

  • Patahuasi:
    A spectacular viewpoint along the way, where you can still see smoke rising from active volcanoes — a raw, awe-inspiring reminder of nature’s power.

  • Tacra Wetlands (Sisnes de Tacra):
    This area is bursting with wildlife! You’ll spot a variety of native animals and even some alpaca farms scattered across the landscape.

  • Patapampa:
    At 4,900 meters (16,076 feet) above sea level, this is the highest point of the journey. From here, the panoramic views of the Andes will absolutely steal your breath away (don’t worry, the coca tea helps!).

  • Chacapi Community Visit:
    Get ready for a heartwarming cultural experience! You’ll spend time with the locals, sharing in their daily traditions and celebrations. You’ll even get the chance to dance the traditional Wititi — a dance where, in a charming twist, a man dresses as a woman to win the heart of his beloved.
