VISIT: Arequipa Salt Flats
We begin our Salinas de Arequipa Tour at 6:00 a.m., picking you up from your hotel in Arequipa. From there, we head toward the Chiguata viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the Misti and Pichu Pichu volcanoes.
Our first stop will be in the town of Chiguata, where we’ll visit its main square and beautiful baroque-style church. Here, you’ll also enjoy a delicious local breakfast included in the tour.
We’ll then continue our journey toward the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Along the unpaved route, you’ll witness a vibrant Andean ecosystem filled with life — vicuñas, alpacas, flamingos, and other native species (depending on the season). You’ll also have the chance to feed llamas and alpacas cared for by local herders for just S/. 2.00.
Salinas Lagoon (Arequipa Salt Flats):
Upon arrival at Salinas Lagoon, you’ll have free time to walk across the salt flats, take breathtaking photos, and immerse yourself in the surreal scenery. Your guide will be available to assist with the best photo angles and share interesting facts about this stunning natural wonder.
This tour is perfect for travelers short on time, as it lasts half a day.
