VISIT: Gocta Waterfalls Full Day
We begin our adventure to the Gocta Waterfall at 9:30 a.m., with pickup directly from your hotel in Chachapoyas. Weβll travel for approximately 1 hour by vehicle to reach the picturesque community of Cocachimba, the starting point of our hike.
From there, weβll embark on a guided trek to one of the tallest waterfalls in the world, boasting an impressive 771-meter (2,530 ft) drop, surrounded by the lush vegetation of the high jungle. Along the trail, youβll admire its breathtaking natural beauty, capture incredible photos, and for the more adventurous, take a refreshing dip in its cool waters (around 8Β°C / 46Β°F).
The hike, set in a unique ecosystem inhabited by species such as the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, hummingbirds, and other local birds, lasts approximately 5 hours round trip.
After the visit, weβll return to Cocachimba to enjoy a well-deserved lunch (not included) before starting the journey back to Chachapoyas, arriving around 5:30 p.m.
