VISIT: Laguna 69 hike Full Day

We begin our adventure to the breathtaking Laguna 69 at 4:30 A.M., picking you up from your hotel in Huaraz in a private tourist vehicle.

We travel north through the Callejón de Huaylas until we reach the town of Yungay (2,458 m / 8,064 ft). From there, we take an eastern route toward the Llanganuco Valley, famous for its spectacular high-Andean scenery.

Along the way, we’ll make a 30-minute stop for breakfast. A few minutes later, we’ll arrive at the entrance checkpoint of Huascarán National Park, where we’ll register before continuing our ascent. We’ll pass by the stunning Chinancocha (female lake) and Orconcocha (male lake) — two turquoise jewels where we’ll take a short photo stop.

Finally, we arrive at Cebollapampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of our trek. The hike to Laguna 69 takes approximately 3 hours, leading us through valleys, waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks that seem straight out of a postcard.

Upon reaching the lagoon (4,600 m / 15,091 ft), you’ll witness one of the most iconic views of the Cordillera Blanca — crystalline turquoise waters resting at the base of the majestic Chacraraju glacier.

We’ll spend about one hour at the lagoon, allowing you to rest, take photos, and enjoy a box lunch while admiring the spectacular Andean scenery. Afterward, we’ll descend back to Cebollapampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz.

END: 6:00 P.M. (approx.) – Drop-off at your hotel in Huaraz
