VISIT: Maras by car Full Day
We begin our Maras–Moray Tour at approximately 8:30 A.M., picking you up from your hotel or accommodation in Cusco to start this cultural and scenic experience.
Chinchero – Traditional Textile Center
Our first stop will be in the charming town of Chinchero, known for its ancient textile traditions. Here, we’ll visit a local weaving center where you’ll witness the Inca techniques of dyeing alpaca or llama wool using natural ingredients such as plants, flowers, and even insects — a fascinating ancestral practice that has been passed down through generations.
Exploring the Archaeological Complex of Moray
Next, we’ll continue to the stunning archaeological site of Moray, home to the unique circular agricultural terraces of the Inca Empire. These terraces once served as an agricultural laboratory, where the Incas experimented with crops such as potatoes, corn, and other Andean products, adapting them to different microclimates.
The site also offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and sacred peaks, known as Apus in the Inca worldview.
Visit to the Maras Salt Mines
We then head to the famous Maras Salt Mines, located at over 3,000 m.a.s.l. Here, you’ll admire more than 3,000 salt ponds formed by a natural spring rich in sodium chloride. This site remains a vital source of income for local families and is one of the most visually striking landscapes in the Sacred Valley.

After this enriching experience, we’ll return to the city of Cusco, ending the tour one block from the Plaza de Armas between 2:30 and 3:00 P.M., depending on group pace and traffic conditions.
