VISIT: Paron Lake Full Day
We begin our tour to the stunning Laguna Parón at 7:00 A.M., picking you up directly from your hotel in Huaraz. Before departing, you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast to start the day full of energy.
We then head north along the Callejón de Huaylas, following the beautiful course of the Santa River and surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery.
Our first stop will be in the district of Anta, where we’ll visit the statue of the Virgin Mary Auxiliadora and admire panoramic views of the main snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, such as Huascarán, Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Hualcán, Urus, Ranrapalca, Ocshapalca, and Vallunaraju.
We’ll continue to the charming town of Carhuaz, known for its traditional clothing and exquisite local cuisine. Here, we’ll visit the main square, San Pedro Church, and, if you wish, you can taste delicious artisanal ice cream made from local fruits.
Next, we’ll travel to Caraz, where we take an unpaved road toward the Parón Valley. After about three hours of total travel, we’ll arrive at our destination — the majestic Laguna Parón, located at 4,170 meters above sea level.
Once there, you’ll have free time to stroll along the lake’s shore or take an optional 30-minute hike to the viewpoint, where you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the turquoise lagoon framed by towering Andean peaks.
At midday, we’ll enjoy a boxed or local lunch while soaking in the awe-inspiring scenery of the Andes.
After resting, taking photos, and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere, we’ll regroup to begin our return trip to Huaraz, arriving around 5:00 P.M.
