VISIT: Salat de Uyuni 3 days
We begin our adventure from the city of Uyuni at 10:30 A.M. Our first stop is the Train Cemetery, where we’ll explore century-old locomotives that tell the story of Bolivia’s early railway history.
Next, we’ll head to the village of Colchani, where you’ll witness the traditional process of iodized salt production and have the opportunity to purchase local handicrafts made entirely of salt.
We then enter the majestic Uyuni Salt Flats, one of the most surreal landscapes on Earth. Here, we’ll visit the Ojos del Salar, natural saltwater springs bubbling from beneath the surface, and continue toward the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, the Dakar Monument, and the Flag Plaza, where we’ll enjoy a delicious picnic-style lunch in the middle of the endless white expanse.
After lunch, we’ll drive about 70 km into the heart of the salt flats to reach Incahuasi Island (not accessible during the rainy season). This island, made of ancient coral rock, is covered with giant cacti and offers a 360° panoramic viewpoint — perfect for breathtaking photos of the vast salt desert.
Later, you’ll have free time to take the famous perspective photos, guided by your driver/guide for creative and fun shots.
Finally, we’ll continue to the community of San Juan, where we’ll spend the night in a local lodge. Enjoy a warm beverage, a delicious dinner, and a well-deserved rest after a day full of adventure.

We begin the day at 7:30 A.M. with a hearty breakfast. At 8:30 A.M., we depart toward the Chiguana Salt Flat, heading to the Ollagüe Volcano Viewpoint, an active volcano that still emits fumaroles.
Throughout the day, we’ll explore several high-Andean lagoons, including:
- Cañapa Lagoon
- Hedionda Lagoon
- Honda Lagoon
- Shiarkota Lagoon
- Ramaditas Lagoon
These lagoons are home to typical Andean wildlife such as flamingos, foxes, vicuñas, Andean geese, and wild ducks. At one of these lagoons, we’ll enjoy a picnic-style outdoor lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Afterward, we’ll enter the Siloli Desert, a vast expanse covering more than 7,000 km², known for its surreal rock formations. Here, we’ll visit the iconic Stone Tree, a 5-meter-high rock sculpted naturally by the wind.
We’ll end the day at the stunning Red Lagoon (Laguna Colorada), famous for its deep red hue caused by algae and minerals. This lagoon is also a sanctuary for thousands of flamingos, creating a truly magical sight.
Finally, we’ll continue to the community of Huayllajara, where a warm drink, a delicious dinner, and a cozy night’s rest at a local lodge await us.

We begin the day very early, at 5:00 A.M., heading toward the Sol de Mañana Volcano (4,850 m.a.s.l.), where we’ll explore an impressive field of geysers and fumaroles. You’ll witness boiling mud pools and columns of steam that can reach up to 50 meters high—a truly surreal landscape.
Next, we visit the Polques Hot Springs, with naturally warm waters at a constant 29°C, perfect for a relaxing outdoor bath surrounded by the high Andean scenery.
We then continue through the Dali Desert, a mystical area whose dreamlike landscapes resemble the works of the famous painter Salvador Dalí.
Our final stop is the breathtaking Green Lagoon (Laguna Verde), which takes on a striking turquoise-green color in the afternoon due to its high concentration of minerals such as arsenic. From here, you can also admire the imposing Licancabur Volcano (5,916 m.a.s.l.), marking the border with Chile.
