Itinerary
5:30 A.M. – Hotel Pickup in Cusco
We’ll start early, picking you up from your hotel in Cusco in our private, licensed tourist transport. After about 2 hours of travel, we’ll arrive at the traditional town of Ollantaytambo, where we’ll stop to enjoy an energizing breakfast before beginning our hike.
9:00 A.M. – Hike to the Inca Quarry of Cachicata
Our trek begins with a 2-hour ascent to the ancient Inca quarry of Cachicata, a fascinating archaeological site featuring enormous carved stones, chullpas (Inca tombs), and the original ramps used to transport construction materials to Ollantaytambo.
With the guidance of your professional guide, you’ll explore the site’s rich history and the advanced techniques used by the Incas.
12:00 P.M. – Box Lunch with Andean Views
We’ll enjoy a box lunch surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, perfect for recharging and taking photos.
1:00 P.M. – Hike to Inti Punku (Sun Gate)
We’ll continue hiking for about 1 more hour to reach Inti Punku, the Sun Gate — a spiritual and panoramic spot offering breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley and the Verónica Glacier (5,682 m / 18,642 ft).
Take some time to relax, meditate, and connect with nature before we begin our descent.
3:00 P.M. – Return to Cachicata and Ollantaytambo
We’ll descend for approximately 2 hours back to the Cachicata community, where our private transport will be waiting.
6:00 P.M. – Arrival in Cusco
We’ll return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel, concluding this unforgettable experience.
