Pallay Punchu, also known as the rainbow mountain shaped like a poncho, is a one-of-a-kind landscape that amazes everyone who visits.
With our tour, you’ll enjoy this stunning place all to yourself and capture the best photos, as we take you there for sunset — the perfect moment to soak in the view and take unforgettable shots of Pallay Punchu.
We include everything you need, from the moment we pick you up at your hotel to the moment we drop you off back in Cusco city.
VISIT: Pallay Punchu Rainbow Mountain at Sunset Time
We’ll pick you and your companions up at 8:45 AM from your hotel in Cusco in a private vehicle. From there, we’ll travel along the southern stretch of the Interoceanic Highway for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.After passing the checkpoints in Sicuani and Langi, we’ll reach the base of Pallay Punchu Mountain by vehicle.
Before starting the short uphill hike, we’ll serve you an included lunch with a breathtaking view of the mountain and the massive Langi Lake — perfect for recharging your energy.
After lunch, we’ll get ready with our best outfit to begin the hike and take photos. Pallay Punchu will never disappoint you — it’s a surreal experience.
As we continue climbing, you’ll start to get a better perspective of the mountain’s vibrant colors and stunning geological formations — colors that resemble a traditional Andean poncho woven by the earth itself.
Pallay Punchu features three main viewpoints, each with a gradual ascent. We’ll take breaks along the way and snap beautiful photos with these jaw-dropping views.
We’ll stay until just before sunset, soaking in the golden light, then board our vehicle to return to Cusco city.
On the way back, enjoy coca candies and chocolate bars to recharge after the hike.
DAILY DEPARTURES:
At the moment, we only offer departures at 8:45 AM, departing directly from your hotel in Cusco city.
NOTE 1:
As of 2025, road maintenance is being carried out on certain sections of the route to Pallay Punchu. This may cause slight changes to the schedule — please check with your travel advisor via WhatsApp.
NOTE 2:
We have limited availability if you wish to add one of our professional photographer-guides. This service has an additional cost of $75.00 USD per group (not per person), added to the final price of the tour.
You will receive 10 edited photos within 5 calendar days after the tour is completed.
No refunds or discounts are given for any services that are not used.
