We’ll start the day at 7:30 a.m. with a delicious Amazonian breakfast served at the lodge’s main house — the perfect way to fuel up before a day full of nature and adventure.
At 8:30 a.m., we’ll begin a guided jungle walk along the Madre de Dios River until reaching the renowned Taricaya Wildlife Rescue and Research Center, one of Peru’s most important conservation projects.
Here, you’ll have the chance to see animals such as:
- Macaws and toucans
- Spider and howler monkeys
- Jaguarundis, turtles, and spectacled bears
All of these animals are part of rehabilitation programs that aim to reintroduce them into their natural habitat. Some are permanent residents that, for their safety or that of humans, live in the center under excellent care.
You’ll also visit:
- Artificial turtle beaches, where nests are protected until hatching and release (especially from July to November).
- Observation tower, offering spectacular panoramic views of the river and jungle — perfect for stunning photos.
After enjoying nature and an unforgettable sunset, we’ll return to the lodge on foot (approx. 2 hours).
1:00 p.m. – Lunch and Free Time
Back at the lodge, we’ll enjoy a traditional Amazonian lunch. Afterwards, relax in the hammock area, enjoy a cocktail at the Tunche Bar, or unwind in your private bungalow.
3:45 p.m. – Canopy Walk at the Taricaya Ecological Reserve
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the protected primary forest, walking among ancient trees over 300 years old.
Experience the thrill of the Canopy Walkway:
- A 90-meter hanging bridge suspended 15 meters high.
- The tallest canopy platform in South America — 45 meters high atop a majestic kapok tree.
- Breathtaking jungle views and the chance to spot macaws, parrots, and toucans.
- Witness a magical sunset over the Amazon.
6:00 p.m. – Night Walk
After descending from the canopy, we’ll embark on a guided night walk through the forest. Discover how the jungle comes alive after dark and observe nocturnal animals in their natural habitat (approx. 1 hour).

VISIT: Tambopata 4 days 3 nights
Very early, at 4:30 a.m., we’ll begin our excursion to Lake Sandoval, located inside the Tambopata National Reserve. Before departure, enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a packed breakfast.
We’ll board a motorized canoe and travel for about 1 hour along the Madre de Dios River, watching the jungle awaken at sunrise. This early schedule is ideal because:
- It increases the chances of spotting wildlife.
- It avoids the intense heat that starts after 10:00 a.m., especially during the rowing section.
At 6:00 a.m., we’ll start a 3 km hike through the rainforest to reach the magnificent Lake Sandoval. Along the trail, you may see squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, blue-and-yellow macaws, tropical birds, and butterflies.
Once at the lake, we’ll board a silent rowing canoe to explore this stunning mirror-like lagoon surrounded by pristine jungle — habitat of the black caiman and the giant river otter, an endangered species. The experience lasts around 5 hours, with a stop along the shore to enjoy a light snack in the heart of nature.
Around 11:00 a.m., we’ll begin our return journey to the lodge, hiking back 3 km and then sailing downstream on the river.
Upon returning, you’ll have free time to refresh and relax before enjoying an Amazonian lunch at 1:00 p.m.
In the afternoon, at 4:00 p.m., we’ll set off on a sunset river cruise along the Madre de Dios River. During the trip, you may spot turtles, monkeys, herons, and other riverbank wildlife. At a special moment, we’ll turn off the motor and drift peacefully while admiring the sunset over the river.
During the dry season (July to October), we’ll stop at a natural beach to feel the sand and, for the adventurous, take a refreshing swim.
At around 5:30 p.m., we’ll return to the lodge to rest and enjoy some leisure time before dinner.
Finally, at 7:30 p.m., we’ll gather for a delicious Amazonian dinner with tropical cocktails, ending the day by sharing stories under the enchanting sounds of the jungle.
START: 4:30 a.m. at the lodge (Lake Sandoval excursion).
END: Around 8:30 p.m., after dinner.
