VISIT: Salt Flats 1 Day Tour Uyuni

We begin our Uyuni Salt Flats tour at 10:30 A.M., departing from the city of Uyuni in a shared 4×4 vehicle (capacity for 6 people).

Our first stop is the Train Cemetery, where we’ll explore ancient locomotives with over 100 years of history. We’ll then continue to the village of Colchani, where you’ll see the traditional process of iodized salt production and have time to purchase salt-based crafts and local souvenirs.

Next, we enter the Majestic Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest salt desert in the world, and visit the following attractions:

• Ojos del Salar – small natural saltwater springs bubbling from beneath the surface.

   

• Playa Blanca Salt Hotel – the first hotel built entirely from salt blocks.

   

• Dakar Monument and Flag Plaza, where we’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch in the middle of the salt flats.

   

We then venture about 70 km deep into the flats to reach the stunning Incahuasi Island (access subject to weather conditions), a geological formation made of petrified coral and giant cacti, offering 360° panoramic views of the salt flats.

Afterward, you’ll have time to take the famous perspective or “crazy” photos, with the help of your driver-guide. During the rainy season (January to March), we’ll also visit the mirror effect area, where the sky perfectly reflects on the salt surface—an unforgettable natural spectacle.

To end the day, we’ll enjoy a spectacular sunset with a wine toast and snacks, surrounded by the magical beauty of the Uyuni landscape.

END OF TOUR: Return to Uyuni around 7:30 P.M. – End of services.
