3:00 p.m. – Meeting at the Main Square of Puerto Maldonado
Our guide and driver will be waiting for you at the Main Square to complete the registration and give you the first instructions before starting the experience.
3:20 p.m. – Departure to Lake Yacumama
We begin the journey by van toward the entrance of the natural reserve, leaving the city behind to gradually enter the Amazonian environment.
4:00 p.m. – Arrival at Lake Yacumama
Upon arriving at the entrance to the lake, we will have a brief introductory talk about the place and the activities we will do during the afternoon.
4:15 p.m. – Canoe ride on Lake Yacumama
We will board a traditional paddle canoe to navigate peacefully through the waters and palm trees of the lake accompanied by our local guide.
4:45 p.m. – Amazonian wildlife watching
During the navigation, we will be able to observe birds such as green-headed parrots and look for black caimans that inhabit the waters of the lake, always depending on the natural conditions of the day.
5:15 p.m. – Recreational piranha fishing
Our guide will take us to a suitable area for recreational piranha fishing with traditional fishing rods, a traditional experience in which the specimens caught are later released.
5:45 p.m. – Sunset at Lake Yacumama
While we remain on the lake, we will enjoy the changing colors of the sky and the sunset over the Tambopata jungle, one of the most special moments of the journey.
6:15 p.m. – Return by canoe and trip back to Puerto Maldonado
We will paddle back to the small dock on the lake and board our van again to begin the return journey.
6:45 p.m. – End of the tour in Puerto Maldonado
We finish the experience at the Main Square of Puerto Maldonado, after an afternoon exploring one of the natural environments of the Amazon.
