DO I NEED A VISA TO VISIT PERU?
NO, the Government of Peru has decided to cancel the Supreme Decree that established the visa requirement for Mexican citizens visiting us.
Travel agencies in Peru were concerned when this measure was announced, particularly tour operators like us. However, the Peruvian government decided to reverse the measure, which is positive for tourism in our country.
If this measure had been applied, it would have affected already scheduled flights, train services already purchased, not to mention entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, the latter of which does not accept changes or refunds, while in the case of the first two, rescheduling costs are often expenses that come out of the tourist’s budget.
This was the response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the action of the “Call from the various voices of the tourism sector and related industries,” honoring the commitment to the principles of the PACIFIC ALLIANCE, which declare the free movement of people among its member States.
